Islamabad: Bollywood’s latest romantic offering Saiyaara has taken the box office by storm, becoming the second-biggest blockbuster of 2025.

Directed by Mohit Suri, the film has garnered massive earnings both in India and overseas within just nine days of release, surprising trade pundits with its strong performance.

Featuring newcomers Ahaan Pandey and Anit Pada in lead roles, Saiyaara weaves an emotional tale of love and loss between an aspiring musician and a reclusive writer. The film’s heartfelt narrative, coupled with a chart-topping soundtrack, has resonated widely with audiences across demographics.

According to Indian trade analysts, the film has collected Rs217.25 crore in India alone by the end of its ninth day, witnessing a remarkable 50% surge on its second Saturday, with Rs26.5 crore in a single day — up from Friday’s Rs18 crore.

Overseas too, Saiyaara has made a strong impact. The film reportedly earned over Rs30 crore globally on its second Friday, including over $1 million in a single day from international markets — a rare achievement for a romantic drama headlined by debutants.

With a worldwide gross of Rs282 crore (Rs229 crore domestic, Rs53 crore overseas), Saiyaara has now surpassed Housefull 5, securing its place as the second highest-grossing film of the year, just behind the epic historical saga Chhawaa (Rs601 crore).

Set against a rich musical backdrop, Saiyaara tells the story of Krish Kapoor, a struggling singer-songwriter, and Vaani Batra, a solitary novelist, as they navigate love, ambition, and heartbreak.

Critics have praised the film’s emotional intensity and the impressive performances of the lead pair, while fans continue to celebrate its soulful soundtrack and poignant storytelling. The film’s sustained box office run and glowing word-of-mouth have solidified its status as one of the year’s most successful and talked-about releases.
