Rupee Weakens by 7 Paisa Against US Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee continued its slight depreciation against the US dollar on Thursday, falling by 7 paisa in interbank trading. The rupee closed at Rs277.79 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs277.72.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs278.25 and Rs279.75, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Euro also saw a decline, decreasing by 73 paisa to close at Rs303.69, down from the previous day’s Rs304.42, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen remained stable, closing at Rs1.86, while the British Pound saw a slight drop of 16 paisa, finishing at Rs363.22 compared to the previous close of Rs363.38.
Conversely, minor increases were observed in the exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal, which rose by 2 paisa and 1 paisa, closing at Rs75.63 and Rs73.98, respectively.
