Rupee Slips 17 Paisa Against US Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee depreciated by 17 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Monday, closing at Rs 279.21 compared to Rs 279.04 in the previous session.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market stood at Rs 279.75 and Rs 281.25, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Euro dropped by Rs 1.87, settling at Rs 287.97, down from Rs 289.84, as per data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen remained steady at Rs 1.83, while the British pound declined by 75 paisa, closing at Rs 346.41 from Rs 347.16.
On the other hand, the Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal edged up by 5 paisa each, closing at Rs 76.02 and Rs 74.45, respectively.
