Rupee Slightly Depreciates Against Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee depreciated by three paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Tuesday, closing at Rs277.67 compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs277.64.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the US dollar in the open market stood at Rs278.25 and Rs279.75, respectively.

Meanwhile, the euro declined by 71 paisa, closing at Rs305.20 against Rs304.47, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The Japanese yen rose by one paisa, closing at Rs1.88, while the British pound decreased by 41 paisa, trading at Rs363.48 compared to Rs363.89 the previous day.

The exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by one and three paisa, closing at Rs75.59 and Rs73.94, respectively.
