Rupee Gains 4 Paisa Against US Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee appreciated by 4 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Monday, closing at Rs 278.12 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs 278.16.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market stood at Rs 278.90 and Rs 280.75, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Euro gained 77 paisa, closing at Rs 309.29, up from the last closing of Rs 308.52, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese yen increased by 1 paisa to close at Rs 1.98, while the British pound rose by 81 paisa, trading at Rs 366.58, compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 365.77.

The exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal saw a slight decrease of 1 paisa each, closing at Rs 75.72 and Rs 74.10, respectively.
