Rupee Appreciates by 5 Paisa Against US Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee appreciated by 5 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Friday, closing at Rs 277.63 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs 277.68.
In the open market, the buying and selling rates of the US dollar were recorded at Rs 278.80 and Rs 280.30, respectively, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP).
Meanwhile, the Euro rose by 17 paisa, closing at Rs 309.19, up from Rs 309.02 the previous day, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen increased by 2 paisa to close at Rs 1.93, while the British pound surged by 92 paisa, trading at Rs 371.24 compared to the previous day’s closing rate of Rs 370.32.
On the other hand, the exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased slightly, by 2 paisa and 1 paisa, respectively, closing at Rs 75.58 and Rs 74.01.
