Rupee Appreciates by 10 Paisa Against US Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee gained 10 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Friday, closing at Rs279.04 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs279.14.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the US dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs279.60 and Rs281.10, respectively.

Meanwhile, the euro appreciated by 9 paisa, closing at Rs289.84 against the previous rate of Rs289.75, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese yen rose by 1 paisa to close at Rs1.83, while the British pound declined by Rs1.01, settling at Rs347.16 compared to the previous closing of Rs348.17.

Additionally, the exchange rates of the UAE dirham and the Saudi riyal decreased by 3 paisa and 2 paisa, closing at Rs75.97 and Rs74.40, respectively.
