Rs 5.6 Billion Earmarked for Defence Division in Budget

Islamabad: The Federal Government has allocated Rs 5,636 million to the Defence Division under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2024-25.

According to a budgetary document released on Wednesday, Rs 4,506.33 million is designated for ongoing projects, and Rs 1,129.667 million is for new schemes within the Defence Division.

The largest allocation, Rs 1.185 billion, goes to the Defence Division’s NIHD Center of Excellence for Preventive Cardiovascular Research & Development (NEPCARD).

Additionally, Rs 732.857 million is allocated for the Development of ICT and Artificial Intelligence-Based Precision Agriculture System using dual-use Aerospace Technologies (GreenAI).

The Establishment of the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP) Aviation City Pakistan (ACP) receives Rs 864.689 million, while the Establishment of the National University of Pakistan, Islamabad, is allocated Rs 77.476 million.

Other allocations include Rs 623.899 million for the Acquisition of Land from CDA for Establishing a Medical City in Islamabad by the National University of Medical Science (Phase-I), Rs 2 million for the Water Distribution Network for RCB/CCB based on the Khanpur Dam Water Source (Phase-III), Rs 321 million for the Establishment of a New Generation National Geodetic Datum of Pakistan, Rs 420 million for the Construction of two Fast Response Boats (FRBs) for PMSA, and Rs 279.895 million for the Establishment Technology Assessment Lab project.

For new schemes, the Establishment of FG Junior Public School in Gwadar receives Rs 184.667 million, the Establishment of FG Junior Public School in Gilgit gets Rs 195 million, and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles System for Law Enforcement, Emergency Search & Rescue, and Pollution Control Mission is allocated Rs 400 million.
