News Desk
Dera Ismail Khan: The buildings of two primary schools and a Basic Health Unit (BHU) are swept away in the Kacha area of Dera Ismail Khan; however, no loss of life has been reported so far.
According to reports, the rising water level in the Indus River, caused by heavy monsoon rains, led to the destruction of Beit Kalu and Beit Noorpur primary schools, as well as the BHU Khery Kacha.
Assistant Commissioner Faseeh Ishaq Abbasi informed the media that the local administration has made all necessary arrangements for the monsoon season. Staff and machinery are deployed at the site to carry out relief activities. The situation is reportedly under control and residents of the affected areas have been relocated to safer locations, he added.
Responding to concerns about potential flooding in other areas, Faseeh Ishaq assured that there is no further flood risk as the rainwater has already passed through the Looni area of Kulachi and the water level in the Indus River has also begun to recede.
