Lahore: Rich tributes were paid to the officers and jawans of the Pakistan Navy during the innings break of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season X final between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday night.

A special ceremony was held to honour the valour, professionalism, and unwavering readiness of the Pakistan Navy. The stadium, packed to capacity, echoed with patriotic chants as green and white flags waved proudly, creating a charged and nationalistic atmosphere.

Renowned singer Abrar-ul-Haq performed during the event, further elevating the spirit of the ceremony held in solidarity with the naval forces.

The event was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, US Embassy Islamabad’s Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker, and senior members of the civil and military leadership.

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, welcomed the distinguished guests and paid glowing tribute to the Pakistan Navy. He emphasized that the enemy “dare not breach Pakistan’s waters” due to the Navy’s vigilance and strength.

“Living nations always honour their heroes,” Naqvi said, adding that May 10 marks a bright chapter in Pakistan’s defence history—a reference to recent national events celebrating the armed forces.

The tribute served as a reminder of the crucial role of the Pakistan Navy in safeguarding the country’s maritime frontiers, while also reinforcing the bond between sports and national pride.
