Islamabad: The process for appealing rejected or accepted nomination papers, reviewed by returning officers for the upcoming general elections, will start on Monday and continue until Wednesday.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) spokesperson confirmed the completion of scrutinizing candidates’ nomination papers nationwide.

To handle appeals, the ECP has designated 24 appellate tribunals. The tribunals, led by high court judges, are tasked with adjudicating appeals against nomination papers’ acceptance or rejection. They are expected to issue verdicts by January 10.

An updated candidate list will be published on January 11, with a withdrawal window open until January 12.

Electoral symbols are slated to be allotted on January 13, paving the way for the general elections scheduled for February 8.
