Islamabad: For the residents of Gori Town, daily life has turned into a constant struggle as deteriorating roads make commuting unsafe, inconvenient, and costly. Despite repeated appeals to the authorities, their cries for help have gone unanswered, leaving the community frustrated and helpless.
The locality’s roads are riddled with deep potholes, cracks, and uneven surfaces, turning even short journeys into daunting tasks. During the rainy season, the problem worsens as waterlogging and slippery surfaces increase the risk of accidents. Locals say the poor road conditions are not only threatening their safety but also taking a toll on the area’s economy, disrupting business activities and the smooth transport of goods.
“We need better roads to ensure our safety and facilitate economic growth,” said Muhammad Pervaiz, a local resident. “It’s disheartening to see our requests ignored while we are forced to navigate treacherous roads every single day.”
The frustration is shared by many. Commuter Wasi Ahmed recounted how his daily travel has become a nightmare. “The poor condition of the roads caused a two-hour delay in my commute home,” he said. “Accidents are frequent, our vehicles are constantly damaged, and traffic congestion has become unbearable, especially during peak hours.”
Residents argue that their repeated complaints have fallen on deaf ears, with no maintenance or repair work in sight. They say the neglect not only causes financial losses to commuters but also poses serious safety risks.
Locals are now urging the authorities to prioritize immediate repair and maintenance work to alleviate their suffering. “We are fed up with the lack of response,” said Pervaiz. “Our safety and convenience depend on proper roads, and we can’t keep waiting.”
Community members stress that repairing Gori Town’s roads would not only ease traffic flow but also improve business activity and overall quality of life in the area. For now, however, they remain trapped in daily hardship—waiting for the authorities to finally act.
