Rescue 1122 Reports Over 15,000 Emergencies Handled in Pindi

Rawalpindi: The District Emergency Service has released its initial quarterly report for 2024, indicating that out of a total of 104,140 calls received on the Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi helpline from January to March 2024, 15,458 were related to accidents and emergencies.

These emergencies encompass various scenarios including road traffic accidents, fire outbreaks, criminal incidents, drowning, building or room collapses, gas or cylinder explosions, medical issues, and other miscellaneous incidents.

According to the report, Rescue 1122 responded to 14,307 out of the 15,458 emergencies, rescuing individuals in a timely manner.

Specifically, there were 3,754 road traffic accidents, 404 fire incidents, and 422 crime incidents reported to Rescue 1122 during this period. Additionally, there were seven reported incidents of building or room collapses, one drowning, 25 gas or cylinder explosions, and 1,508 miscellaneous incidents.

Throughout the first quarter, 9,337 medically ill individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for prompt first aid.

A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 reiterated the organization’s dedication to professional preparedness. They emphasized the importance of the trust citizens place in Rescue 1122’s services, stating that the personnel are committed to serving the nation and will spare no effort in doing so.
