Abbottabad: Rescue 1122 has issued critical safety guidelines for tourists and local travelers heading to the hilly regions of Galiyat, Ayubia, and Nathia Gali in Abbottabad, following recent snowfall and rain.

District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khattak emphasized the importance of adhering to these precautions to ensure safe travel.

Travelers are urged to ensure their vehicles are mechanically fit before starting their journey, with thorough checks on tires, engines, and lights to prevent breakdowns in challenging weather. Staying informed about weather conditions is crucial, and travel during severe weather is strongly discouraged.

Drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution in landslide-prone areas and avoid parking vehicles in such zones.

During snowfall or rainfall, maintaining low speeds and adhering to speed limits is essential to prevent accidents. Tourists are also encouraged to carry extra food, beverages, and warm clothing to handle unexpected delays or extreme cold.

To maintain smooth traffic flow, overtaking and random parking in hilly areas should be avoided. Travelers using vehicle heaters are advised to keep windows slightly open to allow air circulation and avoid suffocation. For safer travel on snow-covered roads, vehicles should be equipped with snow chains.

Rescue 1122 personnel are stationed at key points across the region to assist travelers, and their guidance should be followed. In case of emergencies, travelers can contact the Rescue 1122 helpline by dialing 1122.

These measures aim to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors to the scenic Galiyat region during the winter season.
