Religious Leaders Advocate Minority Rights

Lahore: On the call of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Ulemas, Mashaykh, and religious scholars across Pakistan delivered sermons on the topic of minority rights in accordance with Islamic teachings and the Constitution of Pakistan.

Clerics addressing congregations in mosques nationwide emphasized that both Muslims and non-Muslims should work towards the implementation of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi led a sermon in Lahore, while Maulana Nauman, Hashir, Maulana Rafiq Jaami, Maulana Asad Zikriya Qasim, Allama Zubair Abid, Maulana Abu Bakar Hameed Sabri, Maulana Tahirul Hassan, Maulana Asghar Khosa, Maulana Abdul Malik Asif, Maulana Izharul Haq Khalid, Mufti Umar Farooq, Maulana Saadullah Shafiq, Maulana Matloob Muhar, Maulana Bilal Qutab, Maulana Tayyab Qureshi, and others addressed congregations in their respective cities. They highlighted that Islam guarantees the rights of minorities and emphasized the responsibility of Muslims in Pakistan to ensure the protection of these rights.

The Pakistan Ulema Council also announced the formation of a committee comprising members of all religions. This committee will be tasked with joint efforts to promote security, stability, and interfaith harmony in the country.
