RDA Urges Public Vigilance Against Illegal Housing Societies

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is advising citizens against investing in unauthorized housing societies and encourages them to visit the RDA website to verify the status of housing societies.

A spokesperson for the RDA stated that the authority has intensified its efforts to curb illegal housing schemes.

Acting upon directives from the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the RDA has initiated operations against those violating regulations.

The Task Force, mandated to crack down on illegal housing schemes, recently targeted four such schemes: Capital Valley, New Airport Town, Banni Mehbob, and Gulshan-e-Bahar, situated in Mouzas Katrian, Thalian, and Pilo in Rawalpindi. 

Enforcement teams have sealed site offices and dismantled infrastructure like main gates, boundary walls, and billboards of these illegal schemes.

Additionally, illegal constructions on Plot No. 522, Phase-II, Gulraiz Housing Scheme were demolished after prior notices were issued to the plot owners, Ilyas and Muhammad Jamal.

This operation, under the supervision of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak, involved the Director General (DG) RDA, the Additional DG RDA, the Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, and the City Police Officer Rawalpindi.

The spokesperson emphasized that the crackdown on illegal housing societies, under the directives of DG RDA Kinza Murtaza, will persist impartially.
