RDA Launches Grand Operation Against 12 Illegal Housing Schemes

Rawalpindi: Under the direction of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatta, the Task Force conducted a grand operation on Wednesday against 12 illegal housing schemes in different mouzas on GT Road and Rawat, and took action in accordance with the law against the rule violators.

Headed by Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director General Mohammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the task force conducted an operation against illegal housing societies in Mouzas Abn Chak, Bagga Sheikhan, Mera Martha, Chak Beli Khan, Takht Pari, Ratial, and Baniaan, informed RDA Spokesman.

Meanwhile, action was taken against the National Police Foundation (NPF), Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Pakistan Government Employees Housing Scheme, Century Town, Taqwa Town, Green Enclave, Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) Housing Scheme, Ample Living/Nishan-e-Mustufa, Pakistan Public Works Department(PWD) Housing Scheme, Countryside Farmhouse, Riser Marketing, and Shaheen Garden; further said Spokesperson.

The site offices were sealed and the Task Force demolished the main entrances, boundary walls, illegal cutting and ploughing, subdivisions, dividers, and road infrastructure of the illegal housing schemes.

Spokesman informed that earlier, notices were issued to the owners and sponsors of the illegal housing schemes, namely Javed Iqbal Khan, Mirza Naseem-ul-Haq, Atta-ur-Rehman Bukhari, Shehzad Ahmed, Qazi Naveed Ahmed, Muhammad Imran Khokhar, Javed Ahmed Butt, Hammad Jamil, Ejaz Jahangir, Zahoor Akbar, and Sardar Shoaib Shaheen, while FIRs (First Information Report) were also lodged against them to stop illegal advertisements, booking of the plots and development work.

The property owners were operating illegal booking offices in contravention of the rules, he added.

Task Force Chairman Mohammad Saif Anwar informed that, in response to the complaints of the citizens, a massive operation was being conducted against unlawful housing schemes that were misleading the public and stealing the hard-earned money of innocent people.
