Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has intensified efforts in the ongoing crackdown against illegal housing schemes, according to RDA spokesman Hafiz Irfan.
Notices have been issued to three such schemes – Shah-e-Khrasan, Imperial City, and Ring Road Town.
The RDA spokesman informed that FIRs have been lodged against four illegal housing schemes by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of RDA. He emphasized the importance of adhering to legal processes and issued warnings against marketing unapproved projects.
In a separate initiative, RDA’s crackdown against illegal housing schemes continues, with 548 legal notices, 212 FIRs, and the sealing of 183 offices. Strict actions, including demolitions and FIRs, have been taken against various schemes.
The operation, monitored by DG RDA, Rawalpindi DC, and City Police Officer, targets multiple illegal housing societies, with 129 letters sent to the Cyber Crime Wing for legal action. The ongoing operation remains impartial, and actions against specific schemes, such as Blue World City, Multi Garden, and others, demonstrate the commitment to enforce regulations.
Hafiz Irfan reports that the operation has resulted in the issuance of 218 challans, imprisonment of nine individuals, confiscation of 28 housing society securities, and a successful recovery target of Rs 52.11 million. Nearly 72 cases of illegal housing societies are in the session court, and 24 are in the high court. Rawalpindi Police, in collaboration with the district administration, play a vital role in curbing illegal practices. The crackdown, in line with Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatta’s directives, aims to continue its efforts against illegal housing schemes.
