Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) enforcement squad on Tuesday carried out an operation against an unauthorized under-construction building in Maryam Green City Housing Scheme on Adiala Road.

Acting on the orders of RDA Director General (DG) Kinza Murtaza, the illegally constructed structure was demolished, reaffirming RDA’s commitment to enforcing building regulations.

According to the RDA spokesperson, the owner of the property, Mr. Nouman, had illegally occupied street space and violated approved building plans by constructing without the necessary approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs). Despite being issued a prior notice, the owner failed to comply, resulting in demolition.

DG Kinza Murtaza has directed the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing to take strict action against illegal encroachments and unauthorized commercial activities. Additionally, the Building Control Wing has been instructed to survey fees for approvals, commercialization, and regularization of illegal structures within RDA’s jurisdiction.

“We are committed to ensuring the proper development and regulation of the city. Citizens must take responsibility and remove encroachments to avoid future losses,” the DG stated.
