RDA Cracks Down on Five Illegal Housing Schemes

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Enforcement Squad, acting on the directives of the Divisional Intelligence Committee, has taken legal action against five illegal housing schemes.

According to the RDA spokesperson, the RDA Task Force has intensified its ongoing operation against illegal housing schemes, conducting raids in various areas. The operations targeted Abdullah City, Avalon City, Discovery Garden, Moon Galaxy, and Shahe Khorasan, which are located in Mouza Sehal, Rajar, Mujahid, Kolian Hameed, and Chakra.

The Enforcement Squad sealed the offices of these illegal housing schemes and demolished their main gates, site offices, boundary walls, road infrastructures, and street lights.

The operation was carried out under the special instructions of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Muhammad Abdul Aamir Khattak, and was supervised by Director General (DG) RDA Kinza Murtaza, Additional DG RDA, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi, and the City Police Officer Rawalpindi.

DG RDA stated that the crackdown on illegal housing societies, as directed by the Commissioner, would continue without any discrimination.

Despite repeated warnings to cease illegal advertisements, booking of plots, and development activities, the owners of these schemes persisted in their illegal operations.

The authority is taking strict action against those who violate the rules, she added.

The DG advised citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes and to visit the RDA website, www.rda.gop.pk, for information on legal and illegal housing projects.
