Rawalpindi: The management of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has urged citizens to disregard misleading advertisements from illegal housing schemes.
The citizens are advised not to be swayed by misleading advertisements and to verify the status of housing projects directly from the RDA before considering any investments, advised an RDA spokesperson.
It has been revealed that owners and representatives of housing schemes such as Ruden Enclave, Mivida City I and II, Ring Road Enclave, Dewan Sharif Accommodation, and Town-21 are running unauthorized publicity campaigns through various media platforms, said an RDA spokesperson.
These schemes are falsely claimed to be located near Rawalpindi Ring Road, he added.
The RDA is actively taking legal action against the illegal advertisements of unapproved housing projects. The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of RDA is specifically responsible for addressing violations of rules in this regard.
The spokesperson for RDA emphasized that Rawalpindi Ring Road is an “access control” road, and no private housing scheme has direct access to it. Citizens are advised not to be swayed by misleading advertisements and to verify the status of housing projects directly from the RDA before considering any investments.
Furthermore, the Planning Wing of the RDA has requested the FIA Cyber Crime Wing to take legal action against the illegal and misleading advertisements associated with these housing schemes.
Although the cases of the mentioned housing schemes are under review at the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA), they are still deemed illegal.
To safeguard their investments, citizens are urged to check the status of housing schemes and can contact both RDA and PHATA offices for verification.
This collective effort aims to protect citizens from falling victim to fraudulent housing schemes and ensure compliance with the law.
