RCCI, MoCC Partner on Climate Action

Rawalpindi: Pakistan, despite being one of the most adversely affected countries by climate change, is now at the forefront of climate diplomacy.
This was highlighted by Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change and Secretary at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination (MoCC), during her meeting with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) delegation, led by President Saqib Rafiq, in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on forging a collaborative approach to address the climate change challenges facing Pakistan.
Both the RCCI and the MoCC committed to working together on climate change initiatives, with a particular emphasis on carbon and plastic credit mechanisms, as well as cooperation in various climate programs.
Romina Khurshid Alam reiterated her office’s commitment to working closely with the RCCI to promote sustainable environmental practices and enhance climate resilience.
President Saqib Rafiq highlighted RCCI’s ongoing efforts in environmental sustainability within the business community and invited Alam to an upcoming Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) event organized by the RCCI.
Romina Khurshid Alam praised RCCI’s proactive stance and assured the Ministry’s full support in advancing joint climate action programs.
