RCB Commits To Ensure Availability Of Safe, Nutritious Food For Residents

Rawalpindi: “Food safety is our utmost priority, and we will not tolerate any compromise in this regard. We have already set up a laboratory, and we are continuously working to enhance its capabilities to ensure the safety of our residents,” said Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Gulzar.

Imran Gulzar emphasised the critical role of food as a primary source of nourishment. He assured the public that the Cantonment Board is dedicated to preventing any form of adulteration in the food supply chain. He also highlighted the establishment of a laboratory and ongoing efforts to strengthen it over time.

On the occasion of  the World Food Safety Day (WFSD), CEO Imran and Food Control Cell InchargeHaroonZafar delivered a significant message aimed at creating awareness about food safety among the residents of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.

Zafar urged the public to play an active role in safeguarding food safety. He encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities related to food production or distribution, stressing the significance of community participation in ensuring a safe food environment.

“We rely on the vigilance of our community members. If you observe any suspicious activities or come across any potential food safety concerns, please inform us immediately,” urged InchargeHaroon.

Imran Gulzar and Haroon Zafar emphasised their commitment to ensuring the availability of safe and nutritious food. They encouraged residents to remain vigilant and actively participate in promoting a culture of food safety.

The Day aims to promote discussions, solutions and means to enhance human health, trade, agriculture, and sustainable development. It also raises awareness about the significance of prevention, detection, and management of risks through food safety practises.
