Additionally, two cattle markets will be established to serve the residents of Tehsil Kallar Syedan and Kahota.

The district administration is committed to ensuring that these markets are equipped with all possible amenities to facilitate the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals during the festive season.

He announced that a temporary cattle market would be established for Eid at Mangal Bypass cattle sale point in Tehsil Kallar Syedan, while another would be setup in Tehsil Kahuta at Sakhi Sarwar Tingi Road.

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) successfully auctioned the fee collection for the cattle market at Bhatta Chowk, fetching Rs109.9 million. The entry fee for sacrificial animals like cows, bulls, and camels has been set at Rs3,000 each, while for goats and sheep, it’s Rs2,000 each.

A spokesperson from RCB stated that 20 contractors participated in the auction, with Riaz Hussain clinching the contract with the highest bid compared to the previous year.

The auction process was transparent, and the contractors were briefed on the facilities provided by the civic body. The contractor will be responsible for collecting the entry fee from cattle sellers.

The spokesperson reiterated the entry fees for different animals and emphasized that RCB would ensure all necessary facilities at the largest cattle market in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The market will be modernized with access to water and veterinary doctors for animal health check-ups.

RCB will deploy teams to crack down on illegal cattle markets within the cantonment areas, prohibiting vendors from bringing sacrificial animals to residential zones. Sale and purchase of animals on roads and streets will be banned, and efforts will be intensified to maintain cleanliness during Eid.

Authorities have issued strict directives to enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), warning of repercussions for vendors failing to comply with regulations.
