Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Super League’s 10th edition is transcending beyond just cricket, emerging as a powerful symbol of national solidarity and respect for Pakistan’s military heroes.
As the tournament resumed at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium following a brief suspension amid rising tensions with India, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled a heartfelt tribute by dedicating PSL 10 to the country’s armed forces. Saturday’s matches were specially earmarked to honour the Pakistan Army, with subsequent days set aside for the Pakistan Navy and Air Force.
The occasion took on a deeply emotional tone as Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, alongside ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, attended the event, reinforcing the close bond between the nation’s cricketing community and its defenders.
A solemn minute of silence commemorated the sacrifices of martyrs from the recent clashes, reminding everyone present of the profound cost of peace and security.
