Rawalpindi Commissioner Resigns Over ‘Election Rigging’

Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Liaquat Ali Chatta, tendered his resignation on Saturday, expressing his protest against the irregularities observed in the recently conducted general elections of 2024.

During a press conference held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Commissioner Chatta acknowledged the occurrence of rigging in the elections within the Rawalpindi division.

Taking accountability for the irregularities, he disclosed that individuals who lost in the elections were manipulated into becoming winners with significant margins.

In a further act of responsibility, Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta surrendered himself to the police, acknowledging his involvement in the illegal activities related to the electoral process.
