Rawal Dam Spillways Set to Open on Sunday

Islamabad:The spillways of Rawal Dam will be opened at 6am on Sunday (July 20) as water levels in the reservoir have surg ed to 1,748 feet following persistent rainfall in the federal capital.

According to a statement from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the decision has been made to regulate the dam’s water level and manage the increased inflow from surrounding catchment areas.

Residents of low-lying areas, particularly those residing near Korang Nullah, have been advised to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement near streams and water channels.

Rescue teams and relevant authorities have been placed on high alert to deal with any emergency situation. Citizens are urged to stay informed through official channels and extend full cooperation to the local administration.
