Ramazan Relief Package: PM Announces Free Flour For Capital residents

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared on Monday that the federal government will provide one million residents of the Capital with free wheat flour during the holy month of Ramazan, which is a significant step towards helping the lower and middle classes.
The government is working to lessen the challenges encountered by the lower and medium-income classes, the prime minister said while presiding over a high-level meeting to examine steps to reduce the impact of inflation on these classes.
PM Sharif also invited the provincial governments of Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to become part of the scheme. In order to ensure transparency in the distribution of free wheat flour, he gave the relevant authorities instructions to make use of current technologies.
The conference was informed that a plan to distribute free wheat flour to 150,000 Federal Capital homes during the holy month of Ramazan in Islamabad’s suburbs is nearing completion in accordance with the PM’s instructions.
The prime minister also, in principle, decided to provide petrol for the motorcycle and rickshaw owners on reduced rates as a programme for their relief had been designed. Different proposals for providing low-cost petrol to motorbike and rickshaw drivers were put forth.
In order to protect the low- and middle-income groups from inflation, the prime minister instructed the pertinent officers to finalise and submit the programme.
