Islamabad: The moon of Ramazan is likely to be sighted in Pakistan today (Monday), prompting the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to convene for moon sighting.
Today marks the commencement of fasting in Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries, with the first Taraweeh prayer held at Masjid al-Haram.
In Britain, the Muslim community is once again divided, with some opting to observe the first fast today and others choosing to begin fasting tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Muslim centers following the fixed calendar in America and Canada will observe the first fast today.
In Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and neighboring countries, the first fast will be observed on Tuesday.
