Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a comprehensive weather forecast, predicting widespread rainfall in northern regions of the country over the coming days. Several areas are expected to experience heavy rainfall, with potential hailstorms and flash flood risks in certain locations.

The capital city, Islamabad, and its surrounding areas are likely to witness partly overcast skies, with sporadic showers and possible hailstorms in some places. The region is set for varied weather patterns throughout the week, keeping residents on alert.

The forecast also includes numerous districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, and Bajaur. These areas are expected to receive substantial rainfall, along with other regions in the province, including Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, and Kohat.

Peshawar, Haripur, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Swabi are among the places in KP that fall within the predicted rainfall belt. Additionally, areas such as Kohat, Bannu, Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan may also experience varying levels of precipitation during the forecast period.

Punjab is expected to face heavy rains as well, particularly in the hilly and mountainous areas of Murree, Galiyat, and Rawalpindi. Other cities such as Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum will see showers, providing much-needed relief to these agricultural regions. Talagang, Mianwali, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, and Mandi Bahauddin are also on the radar for significant rainfall.

The weather system is expected to move towards central and northern Punjab, bringing rain to Sargodha, Gujarat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Faisalabad, where agricultural lands will benefit from the downpours.

In contrast, the southern provinces of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain hot and dry, with only a few districts seeing rain. In Sindh, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Kashmore are likely to experience some rainfall. Similarly, in Balochistan, districts such as Lasbela, Washuk, and Khuzdar may witness light precipitation.

Meteorological experts have cautioned that heavy rainfall could lead to flash floods, particularly in urban areas with poor drainage systems. Residents of the affected regions are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period of inclement weather.

As the rain-bearing system moves across the country, PMD officials have urged the public to stay updated on weather advisories and to be prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions.
