Rain With Strong Winds Predicted in KP from September 26

News Desk

Peshawar: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in the upper and central regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) starting Thursday, September 26.

The Met Office stated that humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are expected to enter the upper regions of the country by the evening of September 25, bringing intermittent gusty winds and thundershowers to districts including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and others.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has alerted district governments about potential risks, warning that heavy rains could lead to increased water flow in rivers and urban flooding in lower areas, as well as landslides in the upper regions.

District administrations have been instructed to ensure the availability of necessary machinery to handle emergencies. The PDMA has also advised the public to avoid power lines, unstable buildings, and billboards.

Tourists are encouraged to contact the PDMA Emergency Helpline at 1700 for assistance or inquiries.
