Raids Against Illegal Activation Of Sims In Rawat
Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have successfully conducted a second raid against the illicit activation of SIM cards at two franchisees of a mobile company in Rawat.
BVS devices, silicon thumbs, original CNICs, and SIM cards were seized during the raid. Four suspects in total were taken into custody and the FIA is continuing its investigation.
Based on information on the suspicious issuing of SIMs at the sale channels, PTA had previously filed a complaint to FIA. Raids are a component of PTA’s initiatives to actively thwart attempts to defeat the Multi-Finger Biometric Verification System (MBVS). This indicates PTA’s resolve and steadfast efforts to halt the issuance of illegitimate SIM cards. APP
