Punjab’s Monkeypox Threat Escalates as 4 New Cases Confirmed

Lahore: The threat of monkeypox has intensified in Punjab after four new cases were confirmed in Lahore over the past 24 hours, raising concerns among health authorities.
According to the Health Department, fresh cases of the virus have been identified in the provincial capital. CEO of Mayo Hospital, Professor Haroon Hamid, confirmed that all four patients are receiving treatment and are in stable condition.
The confirmed patients include 30-year-old Sultana Aram, 25-year-old Hamza, 33-year-old Nauman, and 18-year-old Unas. Laboratory tests verified the presence of monkeypox in each case.

Professor Hamid assured that all patients are being provided full medical care at Mayo Hospital and are currently out of danger.
Health officials have urged the public to remain vigilant, follow recommended safety guidelines, and report any symptoms immediately to prevent further spread of the virus.
