Punjab Sees Slight Respite As Dengue Cases Drop To 77

Lahore: Despite a slight decrease in new dengue cases reported on Saturday, Punjab remains in the grip of the dengue virus. A total of 77 new cases were confirmed, bringing the year’s tally to 14,335 across 36 districts of Punjab.
According to the details, Lahore remains the epicentre of the outbreak with 6,541 cases, followed by Rawalpindi with 2,631, Gujranwala with 1,522, Multan with 1,369, and Faisalabad with 847 cases.

The latest figures show Lahore recording 47 new cases, Rawalpindi with 5, Gujranwala with 10, Multan with 4, Faisalabad with 5, and Okara with 2 new cases.
According to Punjab health sources, currently, 101 patients are being treated in hospitals across Punjab, with 55 in Lahore district hospitals.
Health Secretary Ali Jaan Khan has issued a plea to citizens to maintain clean and dry surroundings to prevent dengue spread. He also urged cooperation with health teams working to combat the outbreak.
