Punjab Revises School Timings and Announces Eid Holidays

Islamabad: The Punjab Education Department has issued a notification outlining revised school timings, set to take effect after the Eidul Fitr holidays. The new schedule will be implemented from April 7 and remain in place until October 15.
Revised School Timings
For single-shift schools, classes will begin at 8:00 am and conclude at 1:30 pm. On Fridays, schools will close earlier, at 12:00 pm.
In double-shift schools, the first shift will operate from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, with Friday timings adjusted to conclude at 12:00 pm. The second shift will commence at 1:00 pm and continue until 5:30 pm. However, on Fridays, the second shift will start at 2:30 pm.
Eid Holidays
The Punjab government has also announced Eidul Fitr holidays for schools, with institutions remaining closed from March 28 (Friday) to April 6 (Sunday). Regular academic activities will resume on April 7.
Additionally, the results of annual examinations will be announced on April 4, allowing students and parents to review academic performance before the commencement of the new school year.
Confirming the development on Wednesday, the Secretary of the School Education Department stated that the extended break would enable students and teachers to celebrate Eid with their families and return refreshed for the new academic term.
College Holiday Schedule
Separately, the Punjab Higher Education Department has issued a notification regarding Eid holidays for public and private colleges across the province. As per the statement, all colleges will remain closed from March 28 (Friday) to April 2 (Wednesday).
