Punjab Reports 52 New Dengue Cases

Lahore: An additional 52 cases of dengue fever were reported in different areas of Punjab in the last 24 hours, adding to the year’s total of confirmed cases, which stands at 14,815 across 36 districts.

According to the details, Lahore has seen the highest number with 6,814 cases, followed by Rawalpindi with 2,649, Gujranwala with 1,567, Multan with 1,421, and Faisalabad with 889.

Lahore continues to face challenges with an additional 32 cases, while Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, and Okara reported 4, 4, 6, and two cases, respectively. Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Gujrat, and Bahawalnagar each reported one case within the same period.

At present, 44 individuals are receiving treatment for dengue across various hospitals in Punjab, with 25 of them being treated in Lahore district hospitals.

Ali Jaan Khan, the Secretary of Health Punjab, has made a strong appeal to citizens, emphasizing the importance of maintaining clean and dry surroundings as a crucial preventive measure against dengue fever. He stressed the need for vigilance and proactive steps to contain the rapid spread of dengue in the province.
