Punjab on Alert: Rain, Wind, Thunderstorms Expected Today

Islamabad: Punjab is bracing for thundershowers starting today (Tuesday) and continuing through April 29. 

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority’s Director-General, Irfan Ali Kathia, emphasizes the importance of readiness among relevant departments to manage any potential emergency situations.

Kathia highlights that district emergency operation centers, along with the provincial control room, have been put on alert.

In light of the impending weather, Kathia advises citizens to exercise caution, particularly urging them to steer clear of electric poles and hanging wires. Furthermore, he advises against being outdoors during lightning and stormy conditions.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for PDMA encourages citizens to reach out for assistance by dialing PDMA’s helpline at 1129 if needed. It’s crucial for everyone to stay informed and prepared during such weather events.
