Punjab Nears Completion of Recruitment for 3,000 Nurses

Lahore: The process of recruitment of 3,000 nurses across the Punjab hospitals is in the final stage. 

The Punjab government decided to recruit nurses to address the shortage of paramedical staff in hospitals. A notification in this regard has already been issued.

According to the Pakistan Economic Survey, the country had a total of 116,659 registered nurses in the year 2020 for a population of about 200 million people.

In the general wards of Pakistani hospitals, the current nurse-patient ratio is 1:40, while the Pakistan Nursing Council recommends a nurse-patient ratio of 3:10.

A Punjab Health Department official told APP that the provincial government was making all efforts to provide maximum facilities in hospitals.
