Punjab Enforces Section 144 to Prevent Unrest
News Desk
Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari announced the imposition of Section 144 in Punjab due to recent terrorism concerns on Friday.
She emphasized that anyone violating this order would face legal consequences, asserting that disruptive protests and sit-ins that inconvenience the public would not be tolerated.
Bukhari criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating that the party’s political history is marked by frequent protests and roadblocks aimed at creating unrest.
She accused the PTI founder of attempting to gain power through such tactics and noted that the party no longer has the financial and logistical support it once enjoyed.
She praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her continuous efforts towards public welfare and contrasted this with the situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, where she claimed residents have been subjected to empty promises for the past 11 years.
