Punjab Dominates As Day 4 Wraps Up With 313 Medals Awarded

Islamabad: The Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games continued to captivate athletes and spectators alike on Day 4, held at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad, late Monday. The competition remained fierce, with athletes delivering thrilling performances across various sports disciplines.

By the end of Day 4, a total of 313 medals had been distributed, including 92 gold, 92 silver, and 129 bronze. Punjab solidified its position at the top of the medal table, showcasing dominance with an impressive 116 medals  53 gold, 40 silver, and 23 bronze.

Balochistan emerged as a strong contender, claiming 12 gold, 10 silver, and 17 bronze medals, totaling 39 medals. Sindh, maintaining a steady performance, secured 11 gold, 13 silver, and 19 bronze medals for a total of 43 medals, holding firm in third place.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa displayed consistency, collecting 10 gold, 17 silver, and 24 bronze medals, adding up to 51 medals. The host city, Islamabad, impressed with 5 gold, 6 silver, and 26 bronze medals, totaling 37 medals.

Azad Jammu & Kashmir, though with fewer medals, demonstrated determination, earning 1 gold, 4 silver, and 12 bronze, bringing their total to 17. Gilgit-Baltistan, while still medal-less in gold, secured 2 silver and 8 bronze medals for a total of 10 medals.

A Pakistan Sports Board spokesman praised the spirit of competition and unity displayed by all participating regions. “These games have showcased immense talent and potential across all regions. It’s heartening to see every province competing passionately,” the spokesman said.

With the final days of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games drawing closer, the excitement is palpable. While Punjab leads the medal tally, Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan continue to fiercely compete for additional medals.
