Punjab Allocates Rs 17 Billion for Higher Education

Lahore: The Punjab government has allocated Rs. 17 billion for higher education in the financial year 2024-25 budget.
According to the budget document, Rs. 7.39 billion will be spent on 81 ongoing schemes, Rs 7 billion is earmarked for seven new schemes, and Rs 2.61 billion is allocated for other development programs. Notably, Rs 6 billion have been set aside for the CM Laptop Program and Rs 500 million for the establishment of the National University in Murree.
Among the new projects, significant initiatives include a biometric attendance system for teaching and non-teaching staff in Punjab colleges and the establishment of Government Boys Degree College in Khuddian, Kasur.
