PSX Witnesses Bearish Trend, Loses 250 Points

Islamabad: The 100-Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a bearish trend on Wednesday, dropping by 250.10 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 74,956.67 points compared to the previous day’s 75,206.77 points.

Throughout the day, a total of 584,484,020 shares worth Rs 17.714 billion were traded, up from the 462,304,427 shares valued at Rs 15.87 billion traded the previous day.

Shares of 389 companies were transacted on the stock market, with 131 companies recording gains, 233 companies suffering losses, and 25 companies remaining unchanged.

The top three trading companies were Hum Network, with 71,273,077 shares at Rs 12.03 per share, Pace (Pak) Limited, with 46,645,000 shares at Rs 4.32 per share, and K-Electric Limited, with 34,484,440 shares at Rs 4.71 per share.

Ismail Industries Limited saw the highest increase in share price, rising by Rs 71.61 to close at Rs 1,700.00. Shahmurad Sugar Mills Limited followed, with an increase of Rs 21.23 to close at Rs 588.58.

Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited experienced the most significant decrease, dropping by Rs 139.76 to close at Rs 18,415.56. Nestle Pakistan Limited also saw a substantial decline, falling by Rs 121.28 to close at Rs 7,200.00.
