PSX Witnesses Bearish Trend, Loses 222 Points

Islamabad: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Monday, with the 100-Index losing 222.02 points, a decline of 0.26 percent, closing at 85,261.39 points compared to the previous close of 85,483.40 points.

A total of 477.64 million shares were traded during the day, a decrease from the 560.74 million shares traded on the previous trading day. The total value of shares traded stood at Rs 23.47 billion, down from Rs 26.12 billion.

In the stock market, 443 companies traded their shares, with 205 recording gains, 180 sustaining losses, and 58 remaining unchanged.

The top three trading companies were WorldCall Telecom with 41.06 million shares at Rs 1.21 per share, Hub Power Company XD with 37.18 million shares at Rs 98.31 per share, and Pak Refinery XD with 30.17 million shares at Rs 25.30 per share.

Atlas Honda Limited saw the highest increase in share price, rising by Rs 62.42 to close at Rs 814.35, followed by Reliance Cotton Spinning Mills Limited, which gained Rs 57.57 to close at Rs 650.00.

On the other hand, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited saw the largest decrease, dropping by Rs 261.50 to close at Rs 17,350.50, followed by Nestle Pakistan Limited, which declined by Rs 139.45 to close at Rs 6,792.00.
