PSX Continues Bullish Trend, Gains 997 Points

Islamabad: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) 100-Index maintained its bullish momentum on Thursday, gaining 997.95 points, a 1.24 percent increase, closing at 81,459.29 points compared to 80,461.34 on the previous trading day.
The trading volume surged as 459.03 million shares were exchanged, up from 400.19 million the day before, with the value of traded shares rising to Rs 18.61 billion from Rs 15.90 billion.
A total of 469 companies participated in the trading session. Out of these, 145 recorded gains, 239 incurred losses, and the share prices of 85 companies remained unchanged.
The top three trading companies were:
- Kohinoor Spinning – 35.18 million shares at Rs 8.01 per share,
- K-Electric Limited – 23.82 million shares at Rs 3.99 per share,
- WorldCall Telecom – 22.93 million shares at Rs 1.33 per share.
The biggest gainer was Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited, with a rise of Rs 141.10 per share, closing at Rs 17,508.33. Lucky Cement Industries Limited followed, gaining Rs 60.73 to close at Rs 1,075.91 per share.
On the losing side, Hallmark Company Limited saw the sharpest decline of Rs 77.07, closing at Rs 822.91, followed by Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering, which dropped Rs 46.55 to close at Rs 479.57 per share.
