PSX 100 Index Climbs to New Heights, Crosses 68,000 Threshold

Islamabad: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) 100 index achieved a historic milestone today by surpassing the 68,000 mark for the first time in its history.

The trading day commenced with a positive momentum as the 100 index surged by 473 points to reach 68,229. This marks a significant increase compared to the previous day’s closing, which stood at 67,756 points.

In the interbank market, there was a minor depreciation in the value of the US dollar at the beginning of the trading session. The dollar experienced a decrease of 2 paise, settling at 277 rupees and 90 paise.

To provide context, in the interbank exchange rate at the close of business yesterday, the dollar was priced at 277 rupees and 92 paise. Therefore, today’s slight decrease indicates a marginal weakening of the dollar against the Pakistani rupee.
