PSL Matches In Pindi: CTP Formulates Plan To Maintain Traffic Flow

Rawalpindi: The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has devised a special traffic plan to maintain the flow of traffic on Murree Road during the upcoming matches in Shamsabad.

More than 347 traffic police officers and jawans will perform special duties during PSL matches being played from March 1 to 12 at Rawalpindi Stadium.

The traffic police have made special arrangements to keep the traffic flowing on alternative routes, informed Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) office Rawalpindi sources.

During the movement of teams, additional personnel have been deployed by making special arrangements to keep traffic flowing on alternate routes.

For the convenience of fans, parking facilities have been provided at three places, including Civil Aviation Ground Shaheen Chowk, Shahbaz Sharif Park near Shaheen Chowk and Graduate Degree College Satellite Town.

Besides, the shuttle service has been provided to provide access the stadium from the parking area. Murree Road will be completely closed from Faizabad to Stadium Road.

During this time, the traffic coming from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad to Expressway.Traffic moving towards Islamabad will be able to enter Islamabad by using 6th Road Said Pur Road while traffic coming from Ghousia Chowk will be diverted to Farooq Azam Road, Kurri Road.

During the cricket match, both sides of Stadium Road from 9th Avenue Chowk to Stadium Road will be completely closed for traffic. Meanwhile, the traffic coming from Islamabad 9th Avenue will be able to enter Rawalpindi through Faizabad Expressway and IJP Road through Pandora Chongi, Katarian, Carriage Factory, Pirwadhai Mor, Chak Madad while the traffic going from Rawalpindi to Double Road 9th Avenue Islamabad will be able to enter Rawalpindi through Murree Road.

CTO Taimoor Khan said that for the comfort of the public and to keep traffic moving on alternate routes so that the citizens remain informed, awareness banners regarding alternate routes and parking will be exhibited during the game on the major motorways in Rawalpindi.

The public will also be given up-to-date information on the traffic situation and diversion points via the radio station 88.6 and official social media pages of the traffic police, Taimoor Khan  added.
