Prolonged Power Outages in Many Cities Amid Severe Heat

Islamabad: Amid severe heat, prolonged power outages are ongoing in many cities across the country, sources said on Thursday.
In several areas of Hyderabad, the duration of load shedding has reached up to 12 hours.
A spokesperson for HESCO stated that load shedding is being carried out based on line losses, and there is no load shedding during examination hours.
In the urban areas of Sukkur, load shedding lasts for 6 to 8 hours, whereas in Jacobabad, Shikarpur, and Kashmore, it lasts for 12 to 14 hours.
In Thatta city and its surrounding areas, load shedding ranges from 14 to 16 hours. In Kamalia city, it is 6 hours, and in rural areas, it is 8 hours.
In the urban areas of Vehari, load shedding is between 4 to 6 hours, while in rural areas, it is 10 hours. In Mingora city, load shedding lasts for 10 hours, in suburban areas it exceeds 16 hours, and in Bannu, it lasts for 18 to 20 hours.
Residents say that due to load shedding, business activities and daily life are being severely affected.
