Islamabad: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked a special milestone on the Fourth of July eight years ago when they had their second date.

In his memoir “Spare,” the Duke of Sussex shared the significance of that day in 2016, recalling their initial meeting. Following a memorable first date, the couple arranged to meet again the very next day, coincidentally on America’s Independence Day.

In a gesture honoring the occasion, Harry prepared something unique for Meghan. “She walked in wearing a lovely blue sundress with white stripes, looking radiant,” Harry recounted in his memoir. He presented her with a pink box containing a delightful surprise.

“Cupcakes. Red, white, and blue cupcakes, specifically to celebrate Independence Day,” he wrote. “I joked about the contrasting views Brits and Americans have on the holiday, but it was all in good fun.”

Despite Harry residing in the UK and Meghan filming “Suits” in Canada at the time, the couple nurtured their blossoming relationship. Their love story progressed swiftly, leading to their wedding in 2018.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were prominent members of the royal family until 2020 when they opted to step back from their official duties and relocate to the United States.
