Price Magistrates Crack Down on ‘Rotti’ Rates

Rawalpindi: The Price Magistrates, following the directives of Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema, conducted 113 raids to monitor the official rates of ‘Rotti’ at ‘Tandoors’.

According to a district administration spokesman, the Price Magistrates were mobilized to enforce the newly fixed official rates for ‘Rotti’ and ‘Naan’.

He reported that 113 ‘Tandoors’ were inspected over the past two days, with 75 complying by offering ‘Naan’ and ‘Rotti’ at the official rates.

However, 43 ‘Tandoors’ were found #violating the administration’s orders. Notices were issued to 15, and fines totaling Rs 67,000 were imposed on 28 violators.

The spokesman further stated that, to date, 2998 ‘Tandoors’ have been checked in the district. Out of these, 2177 were providing ‘Rotti’ and ‘Naan’ at the new official rates.

Violations resulted in fines exceeding Rs 2 million imposed on 629 ‘Tandoors’. Additionally, 46 ‘Tandoors’ were sealed, and 135 violators were arrested.
