Ingredients:
- ½ kg cleaned prawns
- 3 cups besan (gram flour)
- 1 tbsp ground red pepper
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- ½ tsp crushed coriander
- ½ tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground cumin seeds
- 1 tsp chopped chillies
- 2-3 chopped green chillies
- ½ cup chopped fresh coriander
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 tbsp soda powder
- 3 tbsp cornflour
- 2-3 cups water
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine besan with red chillies, turmeric, crushed coriander, garam masala, salt, ground cumin, chopped chillies, green chillies, fresh coriander, chopped onion, soda powder, and cornflour.
Gradually add water while stirring to create a thick batter. Once mixed well, add in the prawns and coat them evenly with the batter.
Heat oil in a wok for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the prawns in batches, ensuring they are fully submerged. Fry until they turn golden brown.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried prawns and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
